Can't it be both? And there are other personalities lying in wait to be exposed.

At least Musk operates out in the open. I am far more concerned with Peter Thiel and his using his money to push a philosophy on society by embedding it in technologies and start-up leaderships.

Re: Ego

Highly recommend Ryan Holiday's book "Ego is the Enemy".

Its an enemy for every living human being at some time, and usually MANY times, during that person's life. When you add to that challenge the status of "richest person in the world", its just impossible for that person's ego to NOT get inflated.

Trust is something that at the level of single human hits a ceiling as far as how much trust any one human earns and deserves from other humans. The same is likely true for any one AI of any kind.

Now as you go from 1 human to a duo of humans, a trio, a group, a neighborhood, a city, a state, a nation, all of humanity; there is both a chance to get more and BETTER trust dynamics than one human...BUT also a chance to get WORSE trust dynamics than a single human.

Also true of AIs, in my opinion.

What is needed are cultural rules and norms and processes for interaction and collaboration that when groups of humans and/or AIs use those rules, norms, processes that trust is consistently GROWN as scale goes up, versus eroded.

Bottom line: Likely not wise to highly trust singleton super-wealthy humans or singleton AIs built by super-wealthy humans.
